Community Guidelines

FriendLife is a place for people to make new friends, keep in touch, and share their world.

Everything that happens on FriendLife should make people feel included and valued. As a result, we have developed some community standards to help you understand what we value as a community.

Please take the time to read and understand these guidelines. We’re very serious about getting content that violates our guidelines reported and removed, because we know it’s important to the community, and it’s important to us.

Violence and Threats

Safety is our top priority. We actively search for and remove content and can contact law enforcement if we think there is a real risk of physical harm to individuals or a threat to public safety.

It is absolutely not allowed to threaten others or organize violence on or with FriendLife. We also do not allow celebrating acts of terrorism or violence, or threats of theft, vandalism, or other serious crimes.

Self-Harm

At FriendLife, we consider all our users friends, and we take any threats of self-harm or suicide seriously. We take down any promotion or encouragement of self-harm, eating disorders, drug abuse, or suicide.

If you are worried that you may harm yourself, please call the National Suicide Prevention Line: 1 (800) 273-8255

They are available 24 hours a day.

Bullying and Harassment

FriendLife does not permit bullying or harassment.

While political and cultural commentary are important, we will not allow users to direct abuse to private individuals, especially towards other individuals on FriendLife.

We reserve the right to determine what constitutes bullying and harassment.

Hate Speech

FriendLife should be a safe place for people of all races, religious, ethnicities, nationalities, sexes, genders, orientations, abilities and medical conditions.

We love the free exchange of ideas, but we do not allow hateful attacks on others based on who they are.

Graphic Content

FriendLife does not allow sharing images or messages that celebrate or glorify violence or cruelty.

Nudity

FriendLife strictly prohibits pornographic and explicit sexual content where a minor is involved.

It’s important that users of FriendLife are able to share content that is important or meaningful to them, but we place limitations on content that shows nudity. Because many images may fall in a “grey area,” we remove questionable content to protect our users.

Identity and Privacy

We require that users on FriendLife connect using their real names and identities.

Claiming to be another person (“catfishing”) or creating multiple accounts violates our terms of service.

Emergency Service Abuse

FriendLife strictly prohibits abuse of emergency services, including prank calls and making false reports.

Intellectual Property

Please be sure you have the right to share content on FriendLife before posting it. FriendLife is required to remove images or other content which violates copyright, trademark, or other legal rights.

Regulated Goods or Illegal Activity

FriendLife does not permit transactions involving regulated goods, including firearms, tobacco, alcohol or adult products.

Additionally, FriendLife does not allow illegal activity on the platform.

Spam

Please do not contact FriendLife users for commercial purposes without their prior consent.

Interrupting the flow of chat sessions with repetitive messages or other activity which is disruptive is strictly prohibited.

Security

We actively prevent attempts to compromise our user’s privacy or security, including those that use fraud or deception.

Releasing the private information of members or non-members is strictly prohibited.

Reporting Abuse

FriendLife has many layers of protection for our users, but sometimes mistakes happen.

If you notice something anywhere on FriendLife that you believe violates our terms, please report it to user profile by clicking on the report/block button on the user’s profile page.

It’s important to remember, however, that reporting a piece of content or a profile does not guarantee that it will be removed from the site.
